The House of Representatives has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to fish out moles in the Nigerian military to win the fight against insurgency.

Naija News reports that this was part of the 19 recommendations the lawmaker came up with during the National Security Summit to generate ideas towards tackling insecurity across the country.

The lawmakers asked the President to declare a state of emergency on unemployment, which it said is the main driver of insecurity.

The legislators also asked the President and Chief of Defence Staff to fish out “moles and double-agents” from the military who have frustrated the fight against insecurity.

The lawmakers urged the Federal Government to create a new team under the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to train and work with the guards of Nigeria’s forest.

According to the report, the lawmakers instruct the immediate enhanced training for the Police Mobile Unit to improve their capacity to deal with insecurity.

However, the report of the summit was debated and approved by the lawmakers during plenary session on Tuesday.

Subsequently, the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, led the leadership of the house to present the report to the President for implementation.
