NDLEA Arrests Notorious Drug Dealer ‘Boogie’ In Nasarawa State

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a notorious drug baron, Muhammed Umar aka Boogie in Nasarawa State.

According to a statement on Tuesday by the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, Boogie was arrested on Thursday 8th July when operatives raided a drug joint located in the state capital, Lafia.

He revealed that about 356kg of cannabis and various psychotropic substances were recovered during the raid while three other drug dealers were also arrested.

“His drug distribution tentacles cut across Kano, Plateau, Benue and parts of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja,” he said.

According to Babafemi, curiously, some quantities of cocaine were intercepted in Benue on 8th, 9th and 13th July.

“The first dealer, John Aondosoo was arrested in Makurdi on Thursday with 28.6grams of crack cocaine and after initial interrogation, it was discovered that his supplier, Henry Ezeomah would bring more supplies in the early hours of Friday from Obosi, Anambra.

“Indeed, the supplier was arrested last Friday with 29.17grams of crack cocaine. In another raid on Tuesday, 13th July the Benue command also seized some quantities of cocaine,” he said.

Reacting to the drug bust, the Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) commended the operatives of the agency and urged them not to relent in their efforts at ridding Nigeria of illicit drugs.

Meanwhile, operatives of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) have rescued one of the students kidnapped from Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna, and two other victims.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Katsina Police Command said the three victims were rescued during a routine patrol mission around the forest of Tsohon Gaya village of Chikun LGA.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, two other rescued victims were kidnapped recently along Kaduna – Kachia Road.
