1. ‘Nnamdi Kanu Went Missing In Kenya… Appeared Days Later In Handcuffs In Abuja’

A brother to the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has narrated how they lost contact with the IPOB leader after he went “missing.”

Speaking to The UK Guardian, Kingsley Kanu stated that the pro-Biafra activist was abducted when he took a walk on the streets of Kenya.

Kanu’s brother, Kingsley, said he had spoken with him while he was in Kenya, “days before he went missing in June.”

“I spoke to him on the phone, he was well, in Nairobi. His associates said he went out, he didn’t take his documents with him; so he wasn’t planning on going anywhere. Then, all of a sudden, we see him paraded in handcuffs in Abuja,” Kingsley said.

2. 2023: APC Postpones Congresses, National Convention Indefinitely

The process for the wards, local governments, state congresses, and national convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) earlier scheduled to commence on July 24, 2021, has been postponed indefinitely.

The postponement was contained in a letter signed by the National Chairman of APC’s Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC, who is Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, and the National Secretary of the CECPC, Senator John Akpanudoedehe.

The letter, dated July 6, 2021, was addressed to the Chairman Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu.

3. GTBank Hit By Mass Staff Resignation, Banking App & USSD Malfunction

Guaranty Trust Bank, one of Nigeria’s top banks that prides itself in making banking easy has come under fire in 2020 and 2021 for actually making banking difficult for its customers.

Many customers have been left distraught over their failure to carry out simple transactions on GTBank mobile app or via USSD. This led to unbearable levels of embarrassment.

Naija News had gathered that many of the bank users at first thought it was a problem with their mobile network but this turned out not to be the case.

4. I’m Not Afraid Of Expulsion – Marafa Dares APC, Mai Mala Buni

Former Zamfara Central Senator, Kabir Marafa has declared that he is not afraid of expulsion from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is as he boasted that he can’t be intimidated by anybody, adding that he made APC, the party didn’t make him.

The Zamfara politician also challenged the current leadership of the APC headed by Governor Mai Mala Buni to go and sleep rather than keep making empty threats.

Naija News recalls Marafa had been had loggerheads with the APC after he rejected Governor Bello Matawalle who recently defected to the APC as his leader in Zamfara State.

5. Radio Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu’s Successor Emerges (See Details)

A successor in the person of Simon Ekpa has emerged to continue managing the activities of Radio Biafra after the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu was arrested by security operatives.

The emergence of the successor was announced in a Facebook post by Ekpa himself who said Kanu ordered him to take over the operations of the radio station and continue daily broadcasts.

Naija News reports Kanu himself is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) following his re-arrest by security operatives and repatriation back to Nigeria.

6. Igboho’s Aides To Court: Order DSS To Release Us On Bail

The 12 arrested aides of Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, have demanded to be taken before the Federal High Court in Abuja and be granted bail.

Naija News reports that the 12 aides, which consist of 11 men and one woman, were arrested by the Department of State Services during the July 2 midnight raid on the Ibadan home of Sunday Igboho.

In a suit filed by their counsel, Chief Yomi Alliyu (SAN), on Friday, the aides demanded that the DSS should arraign them before the Federal High Court in Abuja and be granted bail.

7. INEC: Despite My APC Membership, I Hate Onochie’s Nomination – Senator

An All Progressive Congress, APC senator who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons has declared opposition to presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, becoming national commissioner for Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Reports emerging following the commencement of screening of nominees for the coveted position have revealed that some APC members in the senate panel are currently trying to influence the confirmation of Onochie by putting it in the committee report which would be laid next week, Naija News understands.

However, a member of the panel who spoke with The PUNCH on the ongoing said the basis for writing petitions against Onochie had been defeated.

8. Fulani Group To Southern Govs: Ban Open Grazing And Lose 2023 Presidency

A pan-Fulani group, the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association (GAFDAN), has cautioned Southern governors against banning open grazing in September.

Naija News reports that the Southern governors had come out with some serious resolutions at a meeting held in Lagos on Monday.

The resolutions include the September 1 deadline to end open grazing in the southern part of the country and the rotation of the presidency to the South in 2023.

In an interview with Nigerian Tribune, the National Secretary of GAFDAN, Ibrahim Abdullahi, described the open grazing deadline handed down by the Southern governors as a call for anarchy

9. Onochie About To Be Installed As INEC Commissioner As Senate Carpet Critics

Despite opposition from various groups and stakeholders, Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission is reportedly about to install presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, as a National Commissioner for the electoral umpire.

Naija News reports that there have been controversies over the nomination of Onochie for the nation’s electoral body commissioner by President Muhammadu Buhari in a letter dated 12th October 2020.

The letter which was read at the senate by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, sought the confirmation for Onochie and other nominees.

10. ‘I Am Disappointed’- Daddy Freeze Reacts As Oyedepo, Adeboye, CAN, Shun TB Joshua’s Burial

Controversial media personality and leader of the Free the Sheeple Movement, Daddy Freeze has expressed disappointment over the absence of top Nigerian pastors at late TB Joshua’s funeral which held on Friday, 9th July

Naija News recalls that TB Joshua died after a church service at SCOAN on June 5. He was aged 57.
