Buhari Gives Reasons He Would Leave Office Immediately His Tenure Expires In 2023

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has berated a former Military Administration of Kaduna State, Col Abubakar Umar (rtd), for accusing President Muhammadu Buhari of being the cause of the separatist agitations threatening the country’s unity.

Naija News recalls that Col. Umar in a statement titled ‘Nigeria; A Nation Challenged, said the Buhari government has failed to unite Nigeria.

He also condemned the Federal Government for threats against separatists, while there is less action against kidnappers, bandits and insurgents in the Northern part of the country

Umar added that the arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, is of no serious consequence.

But reacting in a statement signed by its Chairman Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke in Abuja, BMO described Umar as a victim of a “distorted vision and a misperception engendered by frustration borne out of lack of recognition”.

According to the group, Buhari has left no one in doubt of his commitment to the resolution of security and other sundry challenges bedevilling the country.

They added that the president has taken the best constitutional and political measures that could unify the country and “correct fault lines in his dealings with Nigerians and addressing the country’s challenges”.

“If it is a ploy by Dangiwa Umar to deflect attention of Nigerians from the various efforts being made by the Buhari administration in addressing the infrastructural needs of Nigerians and the country’s security challenges, he has only exposed himself as a man who peddles falsehood and is seeking political relevance,” the group statement read.

“The Dangiwa Umars of this world should be told in clear times that it is not ethnic or religious diversity that President Buhari is unable to manage. No. What the President has been unable to do is to manage the security vote in a way to share money to lazy men and women who can’t survive outside government patronage.

“With this inability to share money as his identified weakness, President Buhari is unable to silence critics by way of settlement”.
