2023: Deji Adeyanju Reacts To 'Attack' On Kwankwaso In Kogi

Popular political activist Deji Adeyanju has reacted to the arrest and extradition of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

In a post on his Twitter page on Tuesday, Adeyanju asked the federal government to respect the rights of Nnamdi Kanu.

According to the former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), called on the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to also arrest the ‘real terrorists’ terrorising the country.

He wrote: “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s rights must be respected at all times. The Buhari Govt should go and arrest the real terrorist terrorising our country and their sympathisers in and out of Govt.”

“The Pantami & Gumis of this world.”

Naija News reports that in a short ruling on Tuesday, Justice Binta Nyako ordered that Kanu be remanded based on an application that was brought by the Federal Government.

Justice Nyako ordered that Kanu should remain in custody till July 26 pending the resumption of his trial.

The court proceeding took place barely 15 minutes after the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), disclosed to journalists that Kanu had been arrested.

During a media briefing on Tuesday, Malami stated that the IPOB leader was arrested based on a collaborative effort between security agencies in Nigeria and Interpol.

Recall that Nigeria’s minister for Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, had attracted widespread condemnation over comments he made backing terrorirsts in the past.

While Sheikh Ahmad Gumi also faced severe criticisms for ‘justifying’ the activities of Bandits in the north.
