Buhari Sends Message To Lawan Over Mother’s Death

President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the family of a former Provost Marshall of the Nigerian Army, Major-General R.I.D Isa over his death.

The President in a statement on Monday through his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu also extended his condolence to the people and government of Plateau State.

He described the late Isa as an illustrious father and son while sending them heartfelt commiserations

The statement added that “as a former Provost Marshall of the Nigerian Army and Director of Peacekeeping Operation, Defence headquarters, the President affirms that Major-General Isa made significant contributions in the successes and achievements of Nigerian contingents in several UN peacekeeping operations.”

“President Buhari prays almighty Allah to comfort the family, friends and colleagues of the disciplined officer, who “served the country at great personal risk and was never afraid to pay the supreme sacrifice.”

May his memory be a blessing to all who mourn,” he says.

Meanwhile, a casualty has been recorded in Osogbo, Osun State capital after a masquerade reportedly attacked Muslim faithful offering prayers inside the compound of a mosque.

The incident which is said to have happened since Sunday, June 27 was confirmed to newsmen on Monday (today).

Worshippers according to reports were observing prayers under a canopy in the mosque surrounding when the attackers who passed through Oluode Aranyin’s compound (where the mosque is located), carried out the act.

The name of the individual killed during the awful event is revealed as Moshood Salawudeen.

Speaking on the incident, the Chief Imam of the mosque, Alhaji Quoseem Yunus said there was no previous disagreement between the worshippers and masquerade.
