The National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced dates for the party’s congresses.
The party in a statement by the Secretary of the committee, Dr.John Akpanduoehehe revealed that dates have been fixed for the ward, local government, and state congresses.
The timetable shows that the ward congresses will start on Saturday, July 24, 2021, the local government congresses will follow three weeks later on August 14, and the state congresses are scheduled for September 18.
However, Naija News observed the timetable was silent on the date for the APC national convention.
Akpanduoehehe also confirmed that the CECPC led by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has got an indefinite extension of its tenure.
It will be recalled Naija News earlier reported that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended the tenure of the Caretaker Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).
The caretaker committee, led by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State is understood to have been granted an extension to remain in office until it can conduct a national convention for the party.
This was confirmed in the statement on Friday by Akpanduoehehe.
He confirmed that the extension for the National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) was granted following the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and the Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni-led committee at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Naija News recalls the Buni-led committee came on board in June 2020 after the dissolution of the Adams Oshiomhole led National Working Committee (NWC).
It got its tenure extended by six months in December 2020 during an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
