One person has been reported killed when bandits attacked Madaka area of Kachia town in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State Wednesday night.

Not less than 12 persons were also injured during the attack, Naija News learnt.

It was gathered that the bandits attacked the community around 11pm in the night.

A community leader quoted by Daily Trust confirmed that one person was killed in the attack.

The incident was also confirmed by the Kaduna State Police Command, saying at least 12 people who sustained injuries are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

However, the State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said he could not ascertain if anyone was abducted during the attack.

He added that more details will be available after a meeting with the police area commander who is expected to give more information about the incident.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Farouk Yahaya has paid an on-the-spot visit to Imo to assess the security situation in the state.

Yahaya visited Owerri, the Imo State capital on Wednesday and met with troops of 34 Brigade in Obinze Barracks.

During the visit, the Army chief called on the soldiers to be decisive in dealing with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and all other groups responsible for disturbing the peace of the state.

While praising the troops for their commitment to duty, he also charged them to be professional and loyal in the discharge of their constitutional responsibility.
