Police Arrests Suspected IPOB Members In Rivers

The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has revealed new methods adopted by criminal groups to get their victims.

A statement signed and made available to newsmen in Dutse, the state capital by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Asp Lawan Shiisu Adam, revealed that kidnappers now disguised as security personnel sent to arrest the victim from their office.

The PPRO explained that an incident occurred at Shagari quarters, Hadejia town where criminals disguised as NDLEA personnel and entered into the house of one Cyprian Okechuku and forcefully tried to take him to their office.

Adam said the victim observed that they were carrying a locally made pistol which did not look like a government issued arm. He raised alarm and began to struggle with the criminals.

Naija News learnt that as a result of the outcry, some good Samaritans heard his call and quickly came to his aid and the hoodlums took to their hells. The PPRO said the police rushed to the scene of the crime, and one locally made pistol was recovered.

Three suspects, namely: Mujahid Muhd, Shahid Ibrahim and Haidar Muhd, all of GRA quarters Hadejia LGA, were later arrested.

He said investigation was still ongoing to arrest other members of the syndicate.

Naija News understands that the sensitization by the security operatives is coming following worsening insecurity in the state and the country at large.

Meanwhile, the Emir of Dutse, HRH Nuhu Sanusi has told the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, that Jigawa is currently the most peaceful state in the country.

Naija News reports that the traditional ruler said this on Monday when he was paid a courtesy visit by the Minister.
