Twitter’s Suspension Is Legal, Constitutional – FG

The Federal Government has said that the suspension of the operation of Twitter in Nigeria is legal and constitutional.

Appearing before a House of Representatives investigative hearing on Tuesday, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said the suspension of Twitter is backed by international laws including articles 24, 25 and 26 of the African Union on Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection (CCPR).

Buratai Appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador To Benin Republic

A former Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, has been appointed as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Benin Republic.

The former Defence Chief, Gen Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin (rtd), was appointed as the head of mission to Cameroon.

Farouk Lawan Sentenced To 7 Years In Prison

A former member of the House of Representatives, Farouk Lawan, has been jailed for seven years for demanding a bribe of $3million and receiving $500,000.

Justice Angela Otaluka of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), sitting at Apo, Abuja, on Tuesday, found the former lawmaker guilty in the three-count charge brought against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) against him.

Biafra/Oduduwa Republic: Jonathan Reveals Cause Of Growing Agitations

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed the cause of growing agitations in some parts of the country.

In his address at the 13th Joe-Kyari Gadzama Public Lecture in Abuja on Monday, Jonathan said the agitations were caused by Nigeria’s failure to properly manage its diversity and failure to give ethnic and religious minorities their proper place in the country.

IPOB Enforces Ban On Open Grazing In Delta

Members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have reportedly stormed forests in Delta State to begin the enforcement of the government’s anti-open grazing law.

In a viral video circulating on social media on Tuesday, some masked gunmen believed to be ESN fighters were shooting at cows reportedly wandering on farmlands.
