The former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani, on Monday, insisted that most of the abducted students from the Federal Government College in Birnin-Yauri, Kebbi State are still in captivity.

Naija News had earlier reported that bandits last Thursday abducted students and teachers in the school.

One of the students abducted from the school was killed during the gun battle between soldiers and the abductors.

The Nigerian Army while speaking on the development noted that five of the abducted students and two teachers were rescued.

The former lawmaker, however, called on Nigerians to ignore propaganda regarding the release of the abducted students.

Sani in a post on his Twitter account wrote, “Most of the abducted Kebbi students are still in the hands of bandits; propaganda should be ignored. The children of the poor can’t go to private schools because it’s expensive and they can’t go to public schools because it’s not safe.”
