The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Ramatu Aliyu has expressed the belief that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not end with the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

The Minister said the achievements recorded by President Buhari at the federal level and other elected officials at other levels under the platform of the party has endeared APC to Nigerians.

She made her mind known during her coronation as the Onyize (Mother of Wealth) of Ebira Land by the Oyinoyi of Ebira Land, His Royal Majesty, Dr Ado Ibrahim.

She added that the huge infrastructural investments put in place by the APC administration is a clear testimony that the current administration is passionate about the welfare of Nigerians.

She, therefore, expressed optimism that Nigerians will continue to vote for the party beyond 2023.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has again kicked against the move to confirm Lauretta Onochie, as a national commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Recall that Senate President Ahmed Lawan had directed the Committee on INEC to screen Lauretta Onochie and five others as INEC commissioners.

The Senate took this decision eight months after President Buhari sent the list of the nominees to the Senate for screening.

Reacting in a statement on Sunday through its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP warned the Senate not to test the will of the people by pushing through the confirmation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide,

The main opposition party accused Lawan of testing the will of the people by his failure to reject Onochie’s nomination as demanded by Nigerians.

The PDP warned that Lawan is pitting the Senate against Nigerians, adding that the consequence of such arrogant derision to the definite provision of the 1999 Constitution as well as the precise demands by Nigerians to return Onochie’s nomination to the president could cost the institution its respect with the people.
