IPOB: Dreaded Bakassi Boys Re-emerge In South East

A notorious vigilante group in the South-east, the Bakassi Boys, have reportedly re-emerged in some parts of Awka, Anambra State capital.

It was gathered that the dreaded Bakassi Boys were seen in two vans, singing and warning criminals in the state.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ikenga Tochukwu, denied knowledge of the re-emergence of the vigilante group.

He said, “I received this as information from you. I don’t have any such details before me.

“Meanwhile, I will make enquires please.”

Biafra: Shehu Sani Commends Ngige Over Support For United Nigeria

The former lawmaker representing Kaduna central senatorial district, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the statement of the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige against Biafra agitation in the Southeast of Nigeria.

The human right activist in a post on his Facebook page commended the minister for his courage to support one Nigeria.

Ngige while speaking Igbo leaders from the 19 northern states and the FCT had warned people sponsoring propaganda against the Buhari administration to desist for the interest of national unity.

The minister said, “Infrastructure wise we have gotten our fair share.”

“We are there in the Federal Executive Council. FEC is composed of ministers one per state. But President Buhari gave us six ministers.”

Biafra: South-East Govs To Meet Youths On Saturday – Umahi

The Governor of Ebonyi State and Chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum, Dave Umahi, has said the forum would meet with youths of the region on Saturday.

Speaking on Channels TV, Umahi stated that leaders of the region were opposed to secessionist agitations in the part of the country.

While stating that leaders were ready to know the grievances of the youths, the governor claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari and his ministers might not be aware of all cases of marginalisation of the Igbo people.
