Insecurity: Uzodinma Broke Into Imo Government House In January 2020 - PDP

Governor Hope Uzodinma has promised to set up a Commission of Inquiry to look into the cases of killings caused by the recent security challenges in the state.

He made this known on Saturday when he met with leaders from Imo State at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Owerri, as part of activities to mark the 2021 Democracy Day.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Oguwike Nwachuku, the governor pledged to probe the circumstances surrounding the death of some people during the period Imo state was gripped by insecurity.

To this effect, the governor has promised to set up a Commission of Inquiry to look into the cases of killings occasioned by the recent security challenges.

Uzodinma said that a Commission of Inquiry had become necessary so that Imo people will have a clearer picture of what happened a few weeks ago when some lives were lost as a result of the fight against insecurity in the state.

Meanwhile, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, Nigerian Army, AA Eyitayo, has asked Boko Haram terrorists to drop their arms and surrender.

Brigadier-General Eyitao stated this on Sunday at an event organised for journalists by the army in Maiduguri, Borno state capital.

According to the Army commander, the insurgents are in disarray because of the continued bombardment by troops of the Nigerian military.

He asked the insurgents to take advantage of the opportunity to be rehabilitated and reintegrated into society.

“We are not here for bloodletting, nobody is happy that people are dying.

“Some of them (insurgents) are listening to the media so it is good for us to appeal to them through the media to shun violence, turn up to seek forgiveness and reconciliation,” he sai
