Two Arrested With Counterfeit Money In Kwara

Officers from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested two suspects in connection with counterfeit currency at Yagba Market in Kwara State.

This is contained in a statement issued by the State Spokesperson, Babawale Zaidu, on Saturday in Ilorin, the state capital.

“The suspects said they decided to operate in far places like Yagba market where they could not be easily traced.

“The two suspects are now at the state command for further investigation,” the statement said.

Zaidu said the leader of the counterfeiters, Benjamin Moore who hails Ebonyi State, was a resident of Kwara who was introduced to counterfeiting in Lokoja.

He claimed that Moore, said the man took him to Gurumaraji Temple at Ibadan to collect the fake money, using two hundred naira (N200) note to collect one thousand naira fake money.
