Again, Gunmen Kidnap Catholic Priest In Imo Community

A renowned businessman who resident in Kore, a village in the Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano State has been abducted by unidentified gunmen.

Reports reaching Naija News at this time confirmed that the victim, Emmanuel was visited by the gun-wielding men who stormed the community at about 10 PM on Thursday night.

A source from the community confirmed to newsmen that the victim who is an Igbo man has been in the community for over seven years.

A resident of the village who gave his name as Mubarak Muhammed told reporters via a telephone chat that the armed attackers numbering over 10 invaded the village at night and abducted Emmanuel during the operation which lasted some minutes.

As of the time of filing this report, local authorities within the vicinity were yet to make an official statement on the sad development.

When contacted for further confirmation, Spokesman of the Kano State Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, said the Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Shuaibu Dikko, has dispatched a team of crack detectives to the scene so as to track down the fleeing gunmen who were yet to establish contact with the family of the businessman.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian Navy chopper identified with the number (NNJI3) has been sighted in a forest in the South-West region.

Naija News understands that a video that has now gone viral on social media after it was posted on Thursday, has stirred mixed reactions as citizens expressed fear of seeing the chopper amid happenings in the country.
