The United Kingdom has condoled with Nigeria over the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru.

Naija News had reported how COAS Attahiru alongside 10 others died in a helicopter crash on Friday in Kaduna State.

In a tweet via her Twitter handle on Saturday, British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, described Attahiru and 10 others’ death as shocking.

She wrote: “Profoundly shocked & saddened by this terrible news.

“Our deepest condolences to the family & friends of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and all who so tragically lost their lives. I have sent condolence messages to @CDS_Nig Chief of Staff to @MBuhari.”

This news platform reports that Lt. Gen. Attahiru and 10 military officers were buried at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja on Saturday.
