Breaking: Catholic Priest Killed As Bandits Raid Katsina Church

A Catholic priest identified as Rev Fr Alphonsus Bello has been killed during an attack on Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, Malunfashi, Katsina State by bandits.

A parishioner, Dominic, who spoke on the incident, said bandits invited the church around 11 pm on Thursday.

Dominic noted that immediately the armed men invaded the church, they shot their way to where their targets were.

He added that the late priest resisted abduction but the armed men overpowered him.

The late priest was taken away alongside an elderly priest identified as Rev Father Joe Keke but his corpse was seen on Friday morning.

The spokesman of the state police command, Isah Gambo, while confirming the incident, said two persons have been arrested.

Gambo said the police are on the trail of the attackers.
