Big Blow: Fani-Kayode Reacts As Chief Of Army Staff Dies In Plane Crash

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru after his plane crashed in Kaduna.

Naija News reports that the incident occurred on Friday at the Kaduna International Airport according to military sources.

It was learnt that the ill-fated aircraft crashed at the airport’s runway about 6 pm and about eight people on board are all feared dead.

According to reports, CoAS Attahiru and eight other aides were on the plane when it crashed.

Reacting in a post on his Twitter page, Fani-Kayode described the incident as a tragedy.

The PDP stalwart stated that Attahiru’s death was a big blow and a monumental lost to the nation.

“The Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Armed Forces, General Attahiru Ibrahim, has been killed in an air crash together with a number of his officers and aides,” Fani-Kayode wrote.

“This is a monumental tragedy and a big blow to our nation. May their souls rest in peace & may God help Nigeria.”
