'We Are Not Aware' - Police Speak On Father Mbaka 'Disappearance'

The Enugu state police command has stated that it’s not aware of the alleged disappearance of a controversial Catholic priest, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry.

The spokesman of Enugu State Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe, had told newsmen that the command don’t have any information about the whereabouts of the cleric.

He said, “We don’t have any of such report now. But with time, we will give you an update if we have any.”

Recall that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, OYC raised an alarm on Wednesday, noting that the renowned Chrisitan cleric’s whereabouts can not be ascertained at the moment.

They had claimed that Mbaka was last seen on Tuesday and that every effort to get to him proof abortive. Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the President-General of OYC who disclosed the development in the statement signed by him said: “We have it on good authority that his aides have neither seen nor heard from him since Tuesday.”

“Calls put to his mobile line have also remained unanswered; this has now prompted us to issue this alarm as we would not take it lightly should anything untoward happens to him,” Nnabuike claimed.

However, when youths took to the streets to protest the disappearance of the controversial cleric, Father Mbaka resurfaced.

Mbaka returned in a vehicle a few minutes past 2 pm, with his supporters shouting ‘Father Mbaka, Oh! you are home!.”

The reverend father later came out of the vehicle to rejoice with his supporters.

Earlier, the supporters struggled to confirm that Mbaka was in the vehicle as they take turns to catch a glimpse of him.

“He is the one. I saw Father Mbaka,” one of the supporters jubilated on sighting the cleric.

“He is back! Is it a crime to speak the truth? Nothing must happen to him,” another supporter said
