Insecurity: Major Shake-up As IGP Baba Redeploys Police Commissioners

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has approved the deployment of Commissioner of Police (CP) Abutu Yaro to Imo State Command.

Naija News reports that this was made known in a statement by the Force spokesman, Frank Mba.

According to the police spokesperson, the deployment seeks to strengthen security, tackle violent crimes and enhance optimal coordination of policing operations in Imo.

He revealed that Yaro is a fellow of the National Defence College and the immediate-past Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command.

The new Imo CP will take over from Nasiru Mohammed who has been redeployed to Western Port Authority, Lagos.

Similarly, Hussaini Rabiu is the new CP of the Zamfara State Police Command.

CP John Amadi has been posted from Western Port Authority, Lagos to Airport Police Command, Ikeja, Lagos; CP Anderson Bankole is now in charge of the Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Ikoyi, Lagos.

Also, CP Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu was posted to the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), Force Headquarters, Abuja as the Commissioner of Police in charge.

IGP Baba urged the officers to bring to bear their professional experience to improve policing and restore public confidence.

He also assured citizens of the determination of the Force to improve public safety and tackle all forms of crimes in Nigeria.
