Atiku, Saraki Describe Late Yaradua As Selfless, Patriotic Leader

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said that late ex-president Umar Yar’Adua would always be remembered for being a compassionate leader.

Atiku made this known in a post on his Twitter account on Wednesday to mark the 11th year remembrance of Yar’Adua who died in 2010 while still in office as Nigeria’s President.

Naija News recalls that the late President was reported dead on May 5, 2010, and was buried on May 6 in Danmarna, Katsina State.

Remembering the late former Nigerian leader, Atiku said the late Yaradua was a patriot and compassionate leader, who cared about his people.

Atiku said, “Eleven years in remembrance of our late President Umaru Yar’Adua—a patriot and compassionate leader. May your memory continue to be a blessing.”

On his part, former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has described late ex-president Musa Yar’Adua as a selfless and patriotic leader.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, Saraki regretted that he lost a “great friend” and a “committed leader”.

He wrote: “On this day 11 years ago, Nigeria lost a selfless, patriotic, and committed leader — and I lost a great friend.

“As we remember President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua today, we celebrate his legacy of integrity and pray that the mercy of Almighty Allah (God) continues to be upon him. Amin.”
