President Buhari Makes Fresh Appointment Four Days Before Leaving Office

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the National Poverty Reduction With Growth Strategy.

Naija News understands that the approval followed an earlier submission of document to the Federal Executive Council by the Presidential Economic Advisory Council.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, disclosed that the approval was made on Wednesday, April 28 at the weekly meeting of the council presided over by Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Addressing State House correspondents at the end of the meeting, Adesina, disclosed that Vice-President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who headed PEAC, is to chair the steering committee to provide overall guidance for implementation.

The presidential aide said FEC also approved that it be incorporated into the Medium-Term National Development Plan 2021-2025 and Agenda 2050, adding that the AttorneyGeneral of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), was directed to prepare a bill for submission to National Assembly to make the implementation of the strategy sustainable.

Meanwhile, there was chaos at the National Assembly on Wednesday as legislative aides protest over missing salary.

Naija News learnt that the legislative aides under the body ‘The Concerned National Assembly Legislative Aides’ stormed the NASS building today to lament over months of unpaid salaries.
