Students of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Benue State, abducted by bandits have regained their freedom.

Recall that the management of the school on Monday disclosed that an unspecified number of students were abducted while studying in a theatre hall at the College of Engineering on campus.

The Director of Information, Protocol and Public Relations (IPPR) of the University, Mrs Rosemary Waku, on Wednesday, noted that the students have regained their freedom.

She further stated that two of the students were released on Tuesday, while the others earlier escaped from their abductors.

“The students of FUAM that were kidnapped have been released.”

“The two students, Israel Farren Kwaghgee and Solomon Salifu came back to campus yesterday (27/4/21),” the IPPR director stated.

Waku added that the released students are currently undergoing medical attention.

The development was confirmed by the spokesman of the Benue command, DSP Catherine Anene.

“Kidnapped students of University of Agriculture have been released unhurt. Investigation into the case continues please,” she posited.

Anene added that no ransom was paid.
