Gunshots As Violence Erupts Near LASU

Sporadic gunshots were heard around Alaba Rago, a market situated adjacent the Lagos State University on Monday morning.

Eyewitnesses noted that the gunshots were heard as security operatives made efforts to control the situation.

Videos of the incident were spotted on social media platforms.

The clash is reportedly between members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and some motorcycle riders in the area.

The development has seen the management of LASU to close the gates of the school as students and staff have been urged to remain within the premises.
