Shehu Sani Confirms Attack On Kaduna Church, Reveals Number Killed, Kidnapped

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has condemned Sunday’s attack on Haske Baptist Church in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.

The former Senator while condemning the attack, revealed in a statement on his Twitter account that two worshippers were killed while six others were abducted by gunmen who stormed the church on Sunday morning.

He added that over seventy people have been kidnapped from the axis in the last one week.

Naija News earlier reported the gunmen attack on worshippers in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State.

Confirming the report, Sani wrote on Twitter: “The attacks and abduction on Haske Baptist Church in Chikun LG, Kaduna State early this morning is tragic and condemnable. I called and confirmed that two were killed and Six were kidnapped. Over 70 people are in the hands of kidnappers within that axis in the last one week.”

The new development comes barely 48 hours after bandits who stormed Greenfield University, a privately-owned tertiary institution in Kaduna State, and kidnapped some students killed three of the students abducted on Wednesday.

The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna State, Samuel Aruwan in a statement released on Friday, said the remains of the three students were found at Kwanar Bature village, a location close to the university, on Friday.

Meanwhile, Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka has once again called on President Muhammadu Buhari to wake up from the slumber and realize all is not well with Nigeria.

Soyinka in a statement on Saturday titled “The endless Martyrdom of youth,” called on the Buhari-led administration to seek help in curbing the many challenges facing Nigeria as a country.

He noted that the heart of many Nigerians are already broken and the people live in despair, unsure of what lies in stock for them in the future as everything looks bleak.

Soyinka noted that Nigeria is already getting overstretched and desperately in need of solutions as the country with every passing minute tends towards a failing state.

He reiterated the need to stop playing politics with the future of the youths of the country but to sit tight and find solutions to ravaging problems threatening to tear the country apart.
