Terrorists Invade Kaduna Millennium City, Kidnap 36 People

Gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists group have attacked parts of Mainok village in the Konduga Local Government Area, Borno State.

A military source told SaharaReporters on Sunday said the town was currently under siege of the terrorists.

The latest attack is coming a few days after the insurgents attacked Geidam, the headquarters of Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe state and hometown of the acting Inspector-General of the Police, Baba Alkali.

It was reported that the terrorists which invaded the town around 6 pm came in eight vehicles and carrying weapons.

A resident of the community that spoke with Daily Trust, said, “Their motorcade moved straight to the location of Kafela primary school as they started sporadic shooting.

“We are currently indoors praying for our safety, that’s all I can say for now”

The attack has been confirmed by the spokesman of the Yobe State police command, Dungus Abdulkarim, he added that the air force fighter is already in Geidam providing reinforcement.

Boko Haram and its offshoot, Islamic State West Africa Province, have killed thousands and displaced millions in North-Eastern Nigeria.

The group has caused over 30,000 deaths and displaced millions of individuals, mainly in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.

The terror group wants an Islamic caliphate in northern Nigeria.
