Bandits Abduct 20 Women, Five Men In Katsina

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have reportedly abducted at least 20 women while attending a naming ceremony at Gidan Bido village, Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to Katsina Post, the incident occurred on Friday.

The gunmen also attacked and kidnapped five men at Unguwar Bawa village of Dandume LGA on Saturday.

The member representing Dandume LGA in the Katsina State House of Assembly is from Unguwar Bawa.

Katsina is one of the states most affected by terrorism and banditry in Nigeria’s North-West region.

Meanwhile, the identities of the three of the abducted students of Greenfield University, Kaduna State, who were killed by the bandits have been revealed.

Naija News reports that the names of the students are Abubakar Sadiq Yusuf Sanga, Dorathy Yohanna, and Precious Nwakacha.

The slain students were found in Kwanan Bature Village, close to the institution, where they were captured on 20 April.

One of the slain students and son of the former chairman of Jemaa Local Government Area of Kaduna state, Abubakar Sanga, was buried on Friday.

Recall that the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said the remains of the three students were found at Kwanar Bature village, a location close to the university, on Friday.
