The Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State has lost a student to depression.

It was reported that one Emmanuel Adedeji, a two hundred level student of the varsity, consumed a poisonous substance to end his own life after he failed to thrive in a business he invested in.

Naija News understands that Adedeji who is studying Management and Accounting at the Ile-Ife Varsity, left a suicide note to confirm why he took the drastic decision.

Speaking on the demise of the student, one of his classmates who pleaded to remain anonymous, said Emmanuel suffered depression after a failed business deal. However, another source who commented on the matter said the deceased did not look like he was depressed when he was seen near the Conference Centre of the university on Monday.

“We heard that he left a suicide note. It pains us that the boy is no more. His action was because of one challenge or the other.”

In another news earlier, Naija News reported that Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested a woman identified as Arugu Chidinma Benedicta for allegedly stabbing a young boy to death in Okaka over a lingering dispute with his grandmother.

The chaos reportedly broke out in the Yenagoa suburb on Tuesday (today) after the cruel woman attacked the deceased’s house to challenge his grandmother over an undisclosed issue between them.
