Plateau Killings Show That Nigeria Is In A Total State Of Collapse - Ezekwesili

President Muhammadu Buhari and security agents in the country have been advised by co-convener of ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ movement, Oby Ezekwesili, to monitor the situation in Chad Republic following the death of their president, Idriss Deby.

President Deby died on the battlefield while fighting against rebels who had launched an attack into the northern part of his country on election day.

The 68-year-old was on Monday declared the winner of the presidential election, handing him a sixth term in power.

Ezekwesili in a post on Twitter charged concerned parties to monitor the situation in Chad, stressing that the country is one of the weakest links of vulnerability to Nigeria’s security.

“One definitely hopes our C-in-C @MBuhari and the Security Team @DefenceInfoNG @HQNigerianArmy are alert to what’s going on in Chad at this time. That country is one of the weakest links of vulnerability to Nigeria’s security.
Keep a fixed gaze on developments in Chad, please,” she tweeted.

In a related development, human rights activist and convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, on Tuesday warned that the death of the President of Chad, Idriss Deby and the security issues in the country will affect Nigeria.

The Chad Army announced the death of Deby on Tuesday after sustaining injuries while fighting with the country’s troops against the rebels who advanced towards the state capital, Ndjamena.
