Kano Hisbah Arrests 8 Over Refusal To Partake In Ramadan Fasting

The Kano State Islamic police popularly known as Hisbah has reportedly apprehended no fewer than eight persons over alleged refusal to participate in the ongoing Ramadan fasting.

The development was confirmed to newsmen in a statement released on Thursday, April 15 by Dr Aliyu Kibiya, Executive Director, Kano State Hisbah Board.

Naija News understands that the said persons were arrested at Tudun Murtala in Nassarawa Local Government Area and Hudebiyya in Sharada area of Kano.

The statement which carried the signature of Malam Lawal Ibrahim, Public Relations Officer of the Shariah police board in Kano noted that their arrests were made following reports from residents of the areas.

The statement read: “The culprits were five females and three males, eating in the afternoon in the month of Ramadan.”

It further explained that the board would continue to conduct raids in all parts of the state to curb the development.

In another news earlier, Naija News reported that the YouTube Channel of the Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) owned by Prophet TB Joshua has been suspended by the online video platform.

The channel, Emmanuel TV was suspended for allegations of spreading hate speech in one of the videos it uploaded, Naija News understands.
