I Don't Have Any Relationship With Intels Anymore - Atiku

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has urged the Muslims in Nigeria to use the occasion of this year’s Ramadan fast to seek God’s intervention in solving the various challenges plaguing the nation.

He also urged Muslims to use the Holy Month to do more charitable acts and reach out to those in need particularly those whose livelihood might have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Atiku in a statement on Tuesday from his Twitter account urged Nigerians, in general, to use the season of the Ramadan fast to build a better society.

He wrote: “I congratulate Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe for witnessing, yet again, the commencement of fasting in the Holy month of Ramadan.

“I urge Muslims to seize the once-in-a-year opportunity to get close to God spiritually and seek his favour and relief from the myriad of problems that have become a clog in the wheel of our progress and development as a nation.

“This’s a time for us to reflect on building a better society and our humanity and give charity, especially to those desperately in need of help.

“Let us also embrace peace and the spirit of hard work to achieve our desired goals.”

In other news, the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed is set to conduct a census of all commercial sex workers in Bauchi State.

Naija News reports that this was made known by the Permanent Commissioner in charge of Hisbah and Sharia implementation, Aminu Balarabe-Isah.

Speaking during a sensitization workshop organized for commercial sex workers, Balarabe-Isah said the state needed accurate data on the prostitutes.

According to the commissioner, the information generated from the exercise would help the commission take measures aimed at discouraging them from continuing with their dangerous trade.

He stated that the Bauchi government was planning to organize empowerment programmes for them and provide them with capital to start small-scale businesses.
