President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew, Mamman Daura, has paid a visit to Adamawa State over the death of Dr Mahmud Tukur, his bosom friend.

Naija News reports that this is Daura’s first public appearance in 2021.

Recall that Mahmud Tukur, aged 82, had died at a hospital in Abuja on Friday.

Speaking during his visit to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State on Sunday, Mamman Daura described the late Tukur as a national icon.

Buhari’s nephew stated that his late friend opened his doors to all Nigerians, irrespective of their creed.

He stated that Tukur was a man of personal character, intense knowledge, good humour, and a sterling example of a nationalist who was committed to the unity of Nigeria.

Also speaking, Governor Fintiri while appreciating Daura for the show of love, noted that the late Tukur was committed to the service of his fatherland.

He added that his demise at this critical time of the nation’s growth and development will be difficult to deal with as he represented a united Nigeria.
