Breaking: Oyo State Govt Demolishes Yoruba Nation Building After Attack

Some children of officers of the Nigeria Police Force whose parent were killed in Oyo State #ENDSARS campaign has begged Governor Seyi Makinde for scholarships to further their education.

Naija News recalls that five policemen were murdered by some hoodlums during the October 2020 protest against police brutality in Oyo State.

The slain cops were identified as James Akanmu, Rotimi Oladele, Adegoke Ajibola, Alidu Wada and Peter Agunbiade.

Lamenting the death of their parents, the bereaved children said they have been withdrawn from their schools by their mothers because they could no longer afford to pay school fees.

Speaking with newsmen in Ibadan on Wednesday, April 7 on behalf of the other children of the slain cops, 12-year-old Kehinde Agunbiade, said, “I am begging Governor Seyi Makinde to please consider our future as very important. We don’t need cash but we need education.

“Since our fathers were killed, it has been very hard for our mothers to feed us let alone send us to school. My father was running his Master’s programme when he met his untimely death. He told us that he was going to give us education to Master’s level before we all get married.”

One of the windows of the slain policemen, Feranmi Oladele, also appealed to the governor to assist them.

Meanwhile, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has asked the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, to ensure the Nigeria Police Force regains the trust of Nigerians.

Speaking on Wednesday during the decoration of Baba with his new rank at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Osinbajo also urged the acting police boss to restore dignity to the force as soon as possible, Naija News reports.
