Pastor, Ten Others Escape Abduction In Kogi

A Lagos-based pastor identified as Frederick Aramuwa has been killed by kidnappers despite receiving N2 million ransom from his family.

The cleric was kidnapped on the 31st of March while travelling from Lagos to his hometown, Ifira-Akoko along the Ipele/Idoani Road in Ondo State.

Aramuwa’s abductors had earlier requested for the sum of N10 million, which was reduced to N2 million after negotiations.

However, after paying the N2 million ransom, it was the lifeless body of the pastor that was discovered in the forest.

The remains of the deceased have since been deposited in the morgue at the General Hospital, Ipe-Akoko.

The development was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Tee-Leo Ikoro. He further stated that the deceased’s remains were discovered tied to a tree in the forest.

In another development, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun, has ordered an immediate medical check on a man arrested for sexually violating his daughter for five years.

Naija News reports that the police command in a statement made available to newsmen earlier confirmed that it apprehended a 49- years-old man, Ubong Akpan, for forcefully having carnal knowledge of his child year in year out.
