Group Rallies Support For Jonathan Ahead Of 2023 Elections

Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigerians to work in love, peace, and unity as Christians mark the remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ during the Easter season.

Jonathan in his Easter message to the people of Nigeria, noted that apart from working in love, peace, and unity, Nigerians must exercise faith and hope, so as to overcome the current national challenges and build a prosperous nation.

He made the submission in a Twitter statement obtained by Naija News from his personal Twitter page on Sunday.

In his words, “the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are at the cornerstone of the Christian faith. At Easter, Christians celebrate hope, eternal life, salvation, and redemption.

“On this year’s Easter, I call on all Christians to imbibe and sustain godly values of righteousness, peace and justice which are the true nature of Christ.

“As we celebrate, I urge all Christians and all Nigerians to work in love, peace and unity and exercise faith and hope, so we can overcome our current national challenges and build a prosperous nation”.

Meanwhile, gunmen have released the Anambra State commissioner for public utilities, Engr Emeka Ezenwanne who was kidnapped on Wednesday night.

Naija News reports that Ezenwanne was abducted on Wednesday during an attack on a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Charles Chukwuma Soludo, which left three police officers dead.

Soludo was attacked at Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area, during an interactive session between him and some Isuofia youths.

The former Governor of CBN has shown interest in the governorship race in Anambra State on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

It was gathered that Ezenwanne was kidnapped after scaling the fence in an attempt to escape, but ran into the gunmen.
