One Sunday Ayenutaju in Ondo State has been apprehended by men of the state chapter of Operation Amotekun for allegedly responsible for the death of an Okada rider.

Naija News understands that Ayenutaju conspired with his friend who is on the run to attack, kill and seize the motorcycle of the victim. It was gathered that the 32-year-old committed the crime at Omin-Nla within Ore axis in Odigbo Local Government Area of the State.

Luck was said to have ran out of them after the duo killed the unidentified victim when the Amotekun operatives swooped on them. Sunday while being paraded by the local security officers said it was his friend who lured him into the evil act.

He said: “My childhood friend, who is popularly known as ‘Akaba’ invited me to join him in snatching Okada in Ore. He told me he had been in the business for a very long time, and it’s lucrative. He showed me over 60 bikes he had acquired and asked me to join him. Although he has been inviting me for a very long time, I refused.”

On his part, while reacting to the incident, the Commander of the corps, Adetunji Adeleye, described the situation as pathetic, urged everyone in the state to be security conscious, especially in this festive period.

Meanwhile, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State on Thursday, decorated Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, as the Super Marshall of the state chapter of Operation Amotekun.

Naija News reports that Governor Abiodun inaugurated the state chapter of Operation Amotekun on Thursday in a bid to tackle insecurity issues in the state, especially activities of Fulani herdsmen.
