The personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on new media, Bashir Ahmad has tackled the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the opposition party’s comments on the All Progressives Congress (APC) membership registration exercise.

Shortly after the APC on Thursday announced the extension of its membership registration and revalidation exercise by three weeks, the PDP reacted to the development, saying the extension is a sign of a failed exercise.

The major opposition party also accused the ruling party of attempting to allocate false figures in the exercise.

Reacting in a statement by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP said Nigerians are not deceived by the fake exercise the APC is currently engaged in.

The PDP urged the APC leadership to listen to the voice of reasons coming from elders of their party like former Governor Bisi Akande, and end “this dance of shame”.

But in a swift reaction, Ahmad called out the PDP, urging the party to provide reasonable opposition rather than poke nose into APC affairs.

He urged the PDP to make adjustments and be seen as a better opponent.

“Gosh! How hard is it for you to just mind your own business? You’re Nigeria’s biggest opposition party for God’s sake. We need a strong and competitive democracy. You’re not giving us sleepless nights anymore, pls make the adjustments, so you can be seen as a better opponent,” Ahmad wrote.

Meanwhile, a popular human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), and other notable Nigerians have set motion in place to form a mega movement ahead of the 2023 general elections.
