Miyetti Allah Takes Position On 2023 Presidency Zoning, Tells Buhari To Declare Bandits As Terrorists

The recent killing of some people in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi state has been strongly condemned by the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).

The cattle breeders group asked security operatives to fish out the killers and make them face the full wrath of the law.

The south-east zonal chairman of Miyetti Allah, Gidado Siddiki in an interview with NAN said it would be a shock if it is eventually discovered that herdsmen are responsible for the killings.

It will be recalled that Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State had accused Fulani herdsmen of killing 15 persons in the state on Monday night.

Speaking on Tuesday at Obegu, in the Ishielu Local Government Area of the state, Umahi said the herdsmen allegedly perpetrated the mayhem carrying AK-47.

Residents also alleged that Fulani herders are responsible for the killing but the Police is yet to confirm the identities of the killers.

But Siddiki in his reaction to the incident, said Fulani herdsmen in the area have been living peacefully with the host community for a long time, hence it will be shocking if it is eventually confirmed that they are the ones responsible for the killing.

He however called on security operatives to carry out proper investigations on the matter.

“We are not happy with this incident. This is heartbreaking and our hearts bleed. We condole with the families of the deceased and the state government.”

“As an association, we appeal to the security agencies not to leave any stone unturned in unravelling the circumstances behind the killing and the identity of the killers,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has declared that the Nigeria Police community radio station was established as part of efforts to build a better relationship with the people and various communities.

The IGP made this known on Wednesday during the commissioning of the radio station in Abuja which he said will bring the Police closer to the people.

He explained further that the establishment is part of efforts to combat crimes and stabilize security across the country.
