Nigeria Police Raise Alarm Over Fake Recruitment Site, Warns Members Of The Public

The Niger State Police Command on Tuesday killed a bandit and recovered one AK-47 riffle from him Tashan–Barau village of  Rafi Local Government Area of the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman, stated this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Minna on Wednesday.

Usman disclosed that a team of Operation Puff-Adder 11, at about 15:25 on Tuesday acted on a credible intelligence that a group of bandits on motorcycles was sighted heading toward Pangu-Gari in Rafi local government area.

The Commissioner disclosed that the police operatives mobilised to the location and engaged the bandits in a gun battle.

He added that a bandit identified as Mohammed Garba was shot, while one AK 47 rifle and an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle were recovered.

The commissioner noted that the the corpse of the criminal had been deposited at a hospital mortuary.

He called on the residents to always supply police with credible information, adding that the command will continue to fight again bandits.

In another development, one Odili Opochi who is suspected to be involved in the killing of Austine Chinua-Amu, the leader of Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps leader in Delta State, has been arrested.

It was gathered that some assailants on Saturday, December 3, 2020, attacked and shot to death Chinua-Amu while making his way back home from a meeting in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government of the state.
