Outcome Of PDP Reconciliation Committee Meeting In Borno – Saraki

Leaders and stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on Thursday held a meeting to settle the rift between members in other to rebuild their camp in Borno State.

Former Senate President of Nigeria, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki who chaired the PDP Reconciliation & Strategy Committee, disclosed on his Twitter account yesterday, March 25 that concerned individuals have reconciled and gave strong commitments to working together again as one.

Saraki revealed that the new chairman of the party in Borno State will be sworn into office early next month.

He said the party is happy that the new chairman has also vouched to carry everybody along to ensure that the party remains an all-inclusive and broad-based platform.

His tweet reads: On behalf of the #PDPReconciliation & Strategy Committee, I would like to congratulate all the members of the Borno State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party over the breakthrough recorded earlier today at our meeting.”

“As it happened in Ogun State, PDP leaders and stakeholders that have not been able to sit together for several years met with the #PDPReconciliation committee and gave strong commitments to work together, act as one team, and rebuild the party.”

“The new chairman of the party in Borno State will be sworn-in early next month. We are glad that he has also vouched to carry everybody along to ensure that the party remains an all-inclusive and broad-based platform.

“We thank all our elders and other stakeholders who were present at the meeting. We know that the return of unity to Borno State PDP is a clear indication that the party is set to reclaim its primacy as the preferred political platform in the whole of the North East Zone.”

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded the prosecution of more electoral offenders in order to sanitise the electoral system.

In a statement on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party commended the judiciary for its courage to stand on the side of the people, Naija News reports.
