There was violent at the C&S College Sabo-Oke, in Ilorin, on Monday following the plan by some unidentified persons to gain access to the school.

There were claims that the students of the school were chased away due to the crisis that rocked the school and its environs on Monday.

Recall that the state government has directed all the ten mission schools shut down due to hijab controversy to resume classes to enable intending WASC students to prepare for their examinations.

The mission schools, however, insisted that the hijab would not be allowed on its premises while demanding that the school be returned to its original owners.

At the early hour of Monday, the gate was locked and all things looked calm until unidentified men stormed the school and tried to open the school forcefully.

The violent youths also attacked Emmanuel Baptist Church opposite C&S College Sabo-Oke, while gunshots were heard from the church.

The attack spread to St Barnabas LGEA primary school and some churches in the area as people armed with cutlasses and broken bottles went on a rampage.

The Christian community also mobilised its own forces to counter the attack in a bid to protect their people and property.

Armed soldiers were later deployed to the area to restore peace and were still present at 2.26 pm.
