EFCC, ICPC Will Probe Nigerians Flaunting Unexplainable Lifestyles – Lauretta Onochie

President Muhammadu Buhari’s on social media, Lauretta Onochie, has said the nation’s anti-corruption agencies would probe Nigerians who flaunt lifestyles they cannot afford offline and online.

Naija News reports that Nigeria’s anti-corruption agencies are the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as well as the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).

In a post on her Twitter page, Onochie said such persons will be invited by the anti-graft agencies to explain the sources of their wealth and properties.

Onochie wrote, “Lifestyle Audit is now legal in Nigeria. Those who flaunt lifestyles they cannot afford can now be investigated by any of the graft agencies to produce evidence of the sources of their wealth. You can now be called upon to explain how you acquired certain properties. -@ICPC_PE.”

Meanwhile, Buhari on Monday welcomed former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Daniel was a former presidential campaign manager of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election in 2019.

He was also the governor of Ogun State from 1999 to 2007, while Bankole was the Speaker of the House of Reps from 2007–2011 on the platform of the PDP.

The President alongside his Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari, received both politicians into the APC at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday.

They were accompanied to the villa by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the APC, and Governor of Yobe, Mai Mala Buni, Governors of Jigawa State, Mohammed Badaru and Kebbi, Atiku Bagudu.
