The Zamfara State Police Command, on Friday, arrested a suspected gun runner and armed robbers in different locations across the state.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Abutu Yaro, while parading the suspects, said the command arrested one Ibrahim Adamu, alias Gado after credible information revealed that he and one Tsoho Dandela of Kangon Marafa village concluded plans to purchase an AK 47 rifle.

Yaro in his statement claimed that the suspect planned to purchase the rifle from one bandit called Dogo Alo residing in a bush in the Zurmi Local Government Area of the state.

“Our operatives mounted a monitoring squad which led to the successful arrest of one of the suspects with cash to the tune of N1,070,000 meant for the consignment.”

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have collected the money from Tsoho Dandela and be taken to Dogo in Zurmi local government area.”

“In the same vein, our operatives apprehended one notorious bandit Lawal Ibrahim and one AK 47 rifle and two rounds of live ammunition and efforts are being geared towards arresting his collaborators,” Mr Yaro added.

In another development, the South African police have confirmed the arrest of a man who allegedly stabbed to death the daughter of his ex-girlfriend.

Though it was unclear what had transpired between the man and his former lover, reports, however, had it that the lifeless body of the young child who was earlier reported missing was found in the suspect’s wardrobe after a search by the police.
