Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led government of Kwara State has been described as the government of the Muslim, by the Muslim and for the Muslim.

Naija News understands that the statement was coming from the President of Kwara Baptist Conference, Reverend Victor Dada, who warned the state governor and resident Muslims not to take for granted the gentleness of the resident Christians.

Lamenting over the disturbing clash between Christians and Muslims at the First Baptist Church Surulere, Ilorin, the state capital on Wednesday, Dada said no amount of pressure will make the Missionary schools accept the use of Hijabs.

He reiterated that the schools which were earlier shut down by the state government are grant-aided but not public schools. Dada pointed out that the Kwara State government had in the last 15 years continued to employ Islamic religious teachers in schools, while teachers for Christian Religious Knowledge are not employed.

He said: “It is surprising that the government has become a government of the Muslim, by the Muslim and for the Muslim in his (state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq) policies, pronouncements and attitude,”

The clergyman stated further that at no time has any government designed uniform for schools ever since the grant aiding policy started in 1974. Dada’s statement reads further: “This has always been the responsibility of the proprietors, be it community or mission,”

“The Muslims and the government should not take our gentleness for weakness.

“We shall not allow the use of hijab in our schools. We will defend our faith and defend our inheritance. We demand that the government should return our schools.”

Meanwhile, Pan-Yoruba elders have accused Sheikh Abubakar Ahmad Gumi of inciting bandits with various unfounded statements to commit more attacks and crisis in the country.

The elders stated this in a communiqué issued and signed by Mogaji Gboyega Adejumo at the end of their meeting on Wednesday in Mapo Hall, Ibadan, Oyo State, Naija News reports.
