Suspected gunmen on Sunday night abducted two female students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ayetoro campus in Yewa-North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The victims who were identified as Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola, are students at the departments of Forestry and Wildlife Management and Agricultural Economics respectively.

It was gathered that the students were kidnapped in front of their hostel on Sunday night at Olowu area of Ayetoro .

A source who spoke on the condition of anonymity noted that the gunmen have requested the sum of N50 million from the families to release the students.

The source, however, said the kidnappedd reached out to their family through students’ phones .

When asked whether the abductors were Fulani herdsmen or not , the source said it was the kidnapped students that spoke with their families and not the abductors.

The kidnappers have not spoken with the families. It was the students that spoke and echoed the demands. We don’t know whether they are Yoruba or Fulani because the families have not heard directly from the abductors.”

In another development, bandits have abducted students and teachers from UBE Primary School in Rama village in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

It was gathered that three teachers and some pupils were abducted on Monday morning while pupils were resuming for school.
