Arsenal vs Southampton: Gunners To Miss Three Key Players

Arsenal claimed the bragging rights in Sunday’s North London derby with a stunning 2-1 victory over rivals, Tottenham in a game where captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was benched.

The Gunners had gone down to a beautiful rabona strike from Erik Lamela in the 33rd minute but recovered to turn the game around and claim victory.

Martin Odegaard equalized for the Gunners in the 44th minute just before half-time and Alexandre Lacazette completed the turnaround to seal all three points with a second-half penalty in the 64th minute.

Naija News reports Arsenal had not beaten Tottenham since 2018 but dug deep on Sunday to record a derby win over their North London rivals.

Lamela also went from hero to villain when he was shown the red card in the 76th minute for a second bookable offence.

Though Tottenham tried to grab an equalizer in the closing stages of the game, Arsenal withstood the pressure and successfully claimed all three points.

Despite the win, the Gunners remain in the 10th position on the premier league table but brightened their chances of finishing the season in the top half of the league.
