Gov Ortom Sacks Lobi Stars FC Vice Chairman

Mr Mike Idoko, the Vice-Chairman of Lobi Stars Football Club has been relieved of his duty by the Governor Samuel Ortom led government of Benue State.

The development was contained in a communique which copy was made available to newsmen on Thursday, March 11 in Makurdi by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Prof Anthony A Ijohor, Naija News reports.

The SSG confirmed that Idoko’s appointment termination takes effect immediately the letter was served.

The statement also directed Mr Idoko to hand over all Government properties in his possession to the Secretary of the club. Prof Ijohor, in the statement, expressed appreciation to Mr Mike Idoko for the services rendered to the state while in office and wished him well in his future endeavours.

Meanwhile, Manchester United has appointed former midfielder, Darren Fletcher as the club’s Technical Director in a major revamp of the Premier League side’s football operations.

In a statement on Wednesday, executive vice-chairman of the club, Ed Woodward said John Murtough has also been promoted to the role of Football Director.

Naija News reports that Woodward said under the new structure, Murtough will have “overall leadership and responsibility for operations and strategy across all football functions.”
