Breaking: FG Launches Npower Batch C Programme

The federal government of Nigeria has launched the Npower batch C programme on Thursday, 11th March 2021.

This was disclosed in a Twitter statement by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development (FMHDSD) who are managers of the federal government social intervention scheme.

The batch C beneficiaries are the next to come online after batches A and B have exited the scheme.

The statement on the development reads: “The @FMHDSD is today launching the N-Power Batch C. The N-Power programme provides young Nigerians an opportunity for employment since it’s inception in 2016 under Batch A & B with about 500,000 beneficiaries catered for”

Speaking during the event, the Minister, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq noted that; “In addressing the numerous challenges precipitated by extreme poverty in Nigeria, the FG has come up with an innovative approach to document all poor and vulnerable Nigerians in a comprehensive National Social Register”

“In view of this life-changing experiences, President Muhammadu Buhari graciously approved the expansion of the N-Power Programme to enable onboarding of 1million young Nigerians.”

Naija News reports that the N-Power scheme is a social intervention scheme introduced in 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari, as a two-year programme for graduate and non-graduate Nigerians between the ages of 18-35.

The beneficiaries enjoy N30, 000 monthly stipend, and devices during the duration of their stay in the scheme in exchange for services offered including teaching, agric extension services, health, etc.

The Minister on Thursday declared the launch of the Npower Batch C as another milestone in the process of recruiting and onbaording the batch C of the Npower programme.

She also praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment to the programme and the welfare of Nigerian youths.

She said: “Today, we have reached another milestone in the process of recruiting and onboarding of the Batch C N-Power beneficiaries beginning with 500,000 beneficiaries”

“This is a remarkable achievement and clear demonstration of Mr. President’s commitment to addressing poverty and unemployment among young Nigerian graduates and non-graduates”
