The niece of President Muhammadu Buhari’s minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Talen, Dapit Karen, who was abducted on Monday has been released.

Naija News had earlier reported that Karen was abducted at Rantiya Lowcost in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The family relative who said the kidnappers didn’t go with the victim’s mother, added that the abductors have contacted the family.

He disclosed that the kidnappers had demanded N5million naira ransom.

A family source while speaking on the development with DailyTrust on Wednesday said the minister’s niece who spent two days in her kidnapper’s den was released after paying N2.5m ransom.

The release of the Minister’s niece has been confirmed by the spokesman of the State Police Command, Ubah Gabriel.

He, however, did not state if any ransom was paid or not.

The victim has reportedly been taken to one of her uncle’s house, which is considered safer.
